This makes the 10th time in a row that I have been lucky at FasTrack!
At this most recent FasTrack I attended a class that talked about Reverse Mortgages. I had many misconceptions about this product and knew very little. Because of the information I received I have been able to start discussions with three potential clients on doing a Reverse Mortgage. Two of these look promising and one probably won’t happen.
How much will I make on this? I don’t know. I do know that it is right for the clients in question and it will change their life. I also know that I had no idea how to help them two weeks ago.
This is the tenth time I have gone to FasTrack and learned something that I was immediately able to apply and earn a commission. These meetings really allow me to get tools that will enable me to help my clients. Raymond says: “Luck is preparation meeting opportunity.” FasTrack is a major part of the preparation.
This reminds me that you don’t know what you don’t know. What you don’t know will hurt you or at least keep you broke.

Three years into working with HBW, the following has occurred: I went part-time at my day job, my wife no longer has to work, my credit cards and home equity line of credit are paid off. Finally, after 10 years, we are finishing our house (additional bedroom and bath), and I have made over FIVE times in three years what I made at my former company during my last five and a half years. Some of the other things that have occurred: I was getting promoted to AVP in 20 months, recruiting agents that live in six states, investing nearly 3 million dollars of client funds, and meeting some of the finest people ever at HBW. I have done all this on a part-time basis and am still currently part-time.
We were one of the winners to the trip to the Super Bowl Party in Santa Barbara, CA and nearly knocked Barney out of the top spot in the Golf tournament. You will not find a more supportive group of staff and friends in the financial services industry. Three years have gone by so fast. "A client of mine called with a referral to a friend of hers who has a life insurance policy with [a competitor]. She wanted me to see if I could save her friend any money. They had $300,000 on each and were spending $95 per month. I grabbed my American General Rate Card and, sure enough, we could give them the same coverage for $45 per month! Or, double their coverage for a little less than they are spending now. They were so happy they are changing over and giving me more referrals!"

"I was on an appointment last week helping a client with their retirement assets and came to find out that they had just purchased a life policy with [a competitor] 30 days ago. They were quoted $102 per month for $400,000 on each. I ran their quote with American General and, you guessed it, SHAZAM! $400,000 on each came to $46 PER month! We gave them more coverage and put him on a 30 year term with AIG!"

Dear Barney:
I hope it is ok for me to address you by your first name, as we met only briefly at the March FasTrack Conference earlier this year.
Anyway, I am writing this letter to you to openly thank you and the people who created HBW! One year ago, I was a very frustrated captive representative with another company. I was frustrated because so much of my career rested on recruiting neophytes into the financial services industry. Not that recruiting is a bad thing. It was just the only thing! What I really wanted to do was assist my clients financially. But the pay for doing that in my former company was miserable that it hardly seemed worth the effort.
I, like thousands before me, had become completely disillusioned with the former company. The hypocrisy was practically palpable, and I felt that I was more of a huckster than a financial professional.
Fortunately, I was rescued by HBW just as I was about to go under! Today I have more enthusiasm that ever before! My hands have been untied and I now have the ability to offer my clients an outstanding array of financial products! Whatever they want, whatever they need, I can provide.
As a consequence, my personal business has absolutely blossomed. I have more clients than ever and now I am primarily working by referral from happy clients. And I feel like a real financial professional; how wonderful can that be! And so, in a sense, you are the reason I am here today, Barney. I have a backlog of business to write: A waiting line of folks unhappy about products and services. And now I can fix these problems and make people genuinely happy.
When I was in the old company, I had lots of time to go to meetings, but those meetings were simply cheerleading meetings.
When I attend HBW meetings, I know that I am going to get great training in state-of-the-art products. And I know that my efforts to listen and practice what I learn will be very well rewarded. So, thank you Barney for this fabulous opportunity! It is not a trick, not a false opportunity, but a true chance to create the future I want.
Next time we meet Barney, I hope we will shake hands again, and that you will be handing me an enormous gold ring as a symbol of what I have achieved through HBW.

Strategically, I learned how to do this work at FasTrack. My former company didn't do VUL or have competitive Variable Annuity Contracts or resources on how to use them to help clients. By attending FasTrack breakouts I was able to get the information I needed to learn how to help my clients with these advanced products.
Tactically, if people want to learn how I did this they should attend my FasTrack breakout on Client Acquisition in August.

We have joined HBW in February 2003 after resigning our positions with a former financial services company where we were earning over 100K yearly. We have opted out not because of failure within that limited system but rather to seek a system where our talent, intelligence and knowledge can be better put to use for the benefit of our community and our family.
Taking advantage of the HBW opportunity, we opened our office and training center in Fort Lauderdale. I have been in financial services for 19 years (3 years part-time). I had a successful practice before I joined the HBW organization in December of 2000. I feel that being part of HBW has enhanced my opportunity to build a great company within a company. I was not focusing on recruiting or building prior to becoming associated with HBW. In the past 3 years our agency has grown from just 10 representatives to,
at last count, 261 associates and growing. We have gone from $9,375 in paid life business in April of 2003 to $39,458 paid life business in April of 2004. What a tremendous increase for our agency and we are really just getting started. The training that HBW has given me has put me in a better position to win. I joined HBW in August of 2003 as a 60% Representative. I had left behind about 750-800K in AUM at my previous company (and two non-producing team members). By April of 2004 I had 30 team members (about 25 life licensed and 5 securities registered). Currently I am an 80% Agency Manger on my way to becoming an AVP and studying for my Series 26 - my personal AUM is about $271,000 so far. Wow! Thank God I took the chance. It seems to get better every month - of course this requires effort.

Barney, I just want to thank you for your leadership in helping us succeed. I especially like your repeated emphasis on putting the client first and looking at the "values" of the client. (The mother of learning is repetition!) I had a mentor in the early years that talked about what my values were in relation to being in business. It has continued to motivate me to this day. I am currently reading one of Bill Bachrach's books and it helpful and enjoyable.

I just want to email you a quick note to let you know how much I appreciate what you are doing, not only for me, but the entire HBW team. You are a true leader and it is very easy to tell that by the way you handle yourself and your team. I am very proud to be a part of HBW - something I really couldn't say about my "former" company. Even though I have not produced a very large cash flow the first 4 months I've been with HBW, it beats the total cash flow I had for the 3 years I was involved with my former company.

One of the things I have learned in owning several other businesses is being in the right place
